Week 1: Day Two – LOVE
Scripture Reading: John 15:13

One day, out in the wilderness, a lioness was tending to her cubs. As she lay watching her precious cubs play, she spotted something sliding through the grass toward them. She stood up and trotted over to see what it was. As the lioness got closer, she realized that danger was approaching. A venomous snake was headed right toward the playing cubs, and it was getting ready to strike with a poisonous bite. The lioness loved her cubs and didn’t want them hurt so she attacked the snake to drive it away. After a furious fight, the snake gave up and slithered away. What the lioness didn’t realize is that she was bitten on her paw during the fight. The snakebite made her sick for a few days, but on the third day, she regained her full strength. Let’s talk about how this story reminds us of an important truth from the Word of God. In what way is Jesus Christ like the lioness in the story? And how are we like the cubs? (Encourage everyone to participate in the discussion.) Just as the lioness in the story was willing to sacrifice herself to save her cubs, Jesus died on the cross for our sins to keep us safe from Satan’s evil plan. Jesus demonstrated His love for us through His sacrifice. Now we’re free to live without worry or fear that death will “bite” us, because Jesus loved us so much that He took the bite for us.

Semana 1: Día Dos – AMOR
Lectura Bíblica: Juan 15:13

Un día, en el desierto, una leona cuidaba a sus cachorros. Mientras se quedaba mirando a sus preciosos cachorros jugar, vio algo deslizándose por la hierba hacia ellos. Se levantó y trotó para ver qué era. Cuando la leona se acercó, se dio cuenta de que el peligro se aproximaba. Una serpiente venenosa se dirigía hacia los cachorros que jugaban, y se estaba preparando para atacar con una mordedura venenosa. La leona amaba a sus cachorros y no quería herirlos, así que atacó a la serpiente para ahuyentarla. Después de una pelea furiosa, la serpiente se rindió y se escabulló. Lo que la leona no se dio cuenta es que le mordieron la pata durante la pelea. La mordedura de la serpiente la enfermó durante unos días, pero al tercer día recuperó toda su fuerza. Hablemos de cómo esta historia nos recuerda una verdad importante de la Palabra de Dios. ¿De qué manera es Jesucristo como la leona en la historia? ¿Y cómo somos como los cachorros? (Anime a todos a participar en la discusión.) Así como la leona en la historia estaba dispuesta a sacrificarse para salvar a sus cachorros, Jesús murió en la cruz por nuestros pecados para mantenernos a salvo del malvado plan de Satanás. Jesús demostró Su amor por nosotros a través de Su sacrificio. Ahora somos libres de vivir sin preocupación o temor de que la muerte nos "muerda", porque Jesús nos amó tanto que Él tomó la mordida por nosotros.
